01 · The challenge
Lumen sold home goods through twelve separate regional sites, each with its own catalogue copy, price list and checkout. A product update meant twelve edits, and mobile pages took more than six seconds to become usable.
Search was the biggest leak: shoppers typing a product by its local name or a common misspelling saw empty results, and the merchandising team had no way to tune what appeared first.
02 · Our solution
We moved the catalogue into one headless commerce back end and built a single Next.js storefront that renders per-market pricing, tax, language and delivery options from shared content. Product pages are statically generated and revalidated when stock or price changes.
A new search service handles synonyms, typo tolerance and per-market ranking rules that merchandisers can edit without a release. Checkout was rebuilt as a single page with local payment methods for each country.
